Cafe+ An HIV Positive Eatery 2019

A recent survey showed that 42% of New Zealanders would not be comfortable eating food prepared by someone living with HIV. On Sunday 10th of March a cafe was set up at the Big Gay Out 2019 to challenge this stigma by having food prepared and served by people living with HIV (and allies). The energy of the volunteers and staff was incredible as was the food. It was a huge success with over 500 customers. We sold out of food and smashed stigma.

We are truly humbled to be part of this ground breaking initiative. Thank you to everyone that came by cafe+ and to everyone that made it possible.
