Celebrating International Women’s Day: A Day of Unity, Inspiration, and Advocacy
On March 7th, Positive Women Inc. attended the Wesley Community Centre Gymnasium at 740 Sandringham Road, which became a hub of empowerment and solidarity, as the Migrant Action Trust hosted a powerful International Women's Day celebration. The event brought together a vibrant community of women, allies, and service health providers, including Positive Women Inc., to reflect on the progress made and advocate for a more equitable future.
The day was marked by uplifting speeches from inspiring guest speakers, who shared their stories of resilience, strength, and triumph. These stories resonated deeply with all attendees, fostering a sense of solidarity and a renewed commitment to breaking down barriers for women, children, and gender-nonconforming individuals.
Participants also had the opportunity to access essential health services, highlighting the event's focus on well-being and support for all. A range of stalls, including Positive Women Inc. offered information and resources, further creating an environment for learning, connection, and empowerment.
Together, the event reaffirmed the collective commitment to end gender-based violence and continue advocating for equality and justice. As communities united under this shared cause, the message was clear: when we stand together, we can create lasting change.
