On behalf of Positive Women Inc. we welcome Liz Gibbs as the new Kaiwhakahaere Matua for the Burnett Foundation.

Liz brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience across the charitable, philanthropic, and public sectors. Known for her strategic insight, collaborative leadership, and commitment to social impact, Liz is a values-driven leader  deeply aligned with the vision of an Aotearoa with zero HIV transmission, where all people living with HIV thrive, and rainbow and takatāpui communities enjoy great sexual health.

Liz has worked across the commercial and for-purpose sectors in the UK, India, Canada, and Aotearoa — including most recently as Group Head of Philanthropy at Perpetual Guardian and Chief of Social Impact at the Selwyn Foundation.

Liz will officially begin her role on Monday, 9 June 2025 and will be working closely with the Burnette Foundation Leadership Team and the Board, to ensure a smooth transition.

“I’m incredibly honoured to be joining Burnett Foundation Aotearoa,” says Liz Gibbs.

“It’s a privilege to lead an organisation with such a rich history and vital role in the health landscape of Aotearoa. I look forward to working alongside the talented team and communities to continue making a meaningful impact.”

Burnett Foundation Aotearoa acknowledges and celebrates the leadership that has brought the organisation to this pivotal moment and remains committed to creating spaces for connection, conversation, and continuity as Liz steps into this important role.
