The new Governance Board of Positive Women Inc. meet for the first time on Sunday 28 January 2024.
A social dinner was held at the Mexican Café the evening before which was an opportunity for the Board to officially meet the Operations Team.
Sunday was a full day of Board induction and training which was facilitated by Haua Partnerships.
Our board training session with Haua Partnerships was a great way to kickstart our governance role with PWI. We learned it is most important to have “brave conversations” where we focus on a topic for discussion and keep our communication channels open and honest. We are looking forward to working together to maximise the flow of the organisation and support our operations manager however we are needed.
The day had a positive vibe, and we allocated our roles as board members: Chairperson - Jill, Secretary and soon to be Treasurer - Debbie, Treasurer - Enatha, Policy Leader - Ciomarah. We are looking forward to being a successful governing team, supporting Jane in her day-to-day operations.
Going forward the Board will meet on the first Sunday of the month via zoom for official Board meetings. The Board will also be doing a Board update in the newsletter which is published every two months.
