Empowering Women through Accessible Health Services: A Collaborative Approach with Mobile Clinics
At Positive Women Inc, we believe every woman deserves equal access to critical health services, no matter the circumstances. In our mission to improve women’s health and wellbeing, we’re proud to work with various health sectors. Our collaboration with Well Women & Families Trust & BreastScreen Aotearoa aims to offer an essential package of health services that includes breast screening, smear tests, HPV testing, HIV and STI screenings, all tailored to meet the diverse needs of women.
One of the biggest challenges many women face when it comes to healthcare is access. For some, barriers such as distance, lack of transportation, financial constraints, or time limitations which prevent them from getting the screenings and health checks they need. Recognizing this, we’ve introduced mobile clinics to bring vital health services directly to the communities we serve. By offering these services in mobile clinics, we’re breaking down the obstacles that keep women from seeking care and making health screenings more convenient, accessible, and inclusive.
A big thank you to Ruapōtaka Marae who hosted Wāhine Wellness Day on 10 Feb 2025. Our team was there along with Well Women & Family Trust, and BreastScreen Auckland Central.
The mobile clinics are not just about offering these services—they’re about reaching women where they live, work, and play. At community events, women can receive essential health screenings in a familiar, non-judgmental setting. Whether it’s a neighbourhood gathering, local market, or community centre, the mobile clinics meet women where they are, so they can take charge of their health.
