Latest news and reflections from the National Coordinator about what has been happening at Positive Women Inc.

The HIV Women's Retreat was held over the weekend from 24-26 June 2022. Women from all over the country came together for this very popular and anticipated annual event.

With sadness but with best wishes, we said goodbye to three key team members at Positive Women Inc.

The New Zealand AIDS Foundation has changed it's name in keeping with the times and honouring it's founder Bruce Burnett. The organisation has also rebranded.

On Sunday, May 15 communities around the world gathered to remember the many lives lost to AIDS. We attended a local candlelight memorial in Auckland organised by Body Positive. 
Our communiuty gathered in the gorgeous St Matthews Cathedral for the event.

In the last couple of months, we have seen many commemorations. We hope that you have all enjoyed a well-deserved Easter and Anzac break and wishing a Ramadan Kareem to all our Muslim members. Coming closer to home we have our sights on the up-and-coming Matariki celebrations

Due to several factors caused by Covid, we won't be hosting the one-day HIV Seminar this year. However, we have decided to continue with the weekend retreat for women living with HIV.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and Anzac break.  For our household this meant the arrival of two new members to the family, Hazel on the left and Bristle on the right. I am talking about the cats, not my grandsons. They are very cute and have kept us entertained with their playful antics.
